ContractZen is a Finnish cloud technology company founded in 2014. The all-in-one SaaS solution includes metadata-driven contract management, all-digital board portal, entity management, virtual data rooms (VDR), secure e-signatures, and more. Easy to use on any device, ContractZen improves corporate governance and business operations by reducing costs, accelerating processes and minimizing risks.

The company has customers in over 30 countries and is owned by leading Finnish and international lawyers and other private investors. Company is also funded by the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, which has funded successes such as Supercell, Rovio and F-Secure. The company has offices in Helsinki and Palo Alto.

Despite Numerous Solutions on the Market:

We, the founders of ContractZen, have faced the above-mentioned challenges continuously during our working life. We have also worked in several companies that offered different kinds of solutions to these challenges. We witnessed how document and contract management solutions continuously failed to help organizations in managing their contracts and important corporate documents in today’s fast paced business world.

We believe that the operational environment for companies around the world has changed profoundly. Fierce global competition, speed of business, digitalization and growing regulation put enormous pressure on organizational governance. More than 50% of small businesses fail in their first 4 years, and 52% of the Fortune 500 companies have disappeared in the past 15 years.

As a result of this more competitive and regulated environment, organizations have to protect themselves better from risks and at the same time they must be ready to react fast when opportunities arise. Therefore, more and more mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, financing rounds as well as different kinds of audits and other due diligence situations are happening around the world. Companies need to properly manage the critical documents for these due-diligence situations, and it does not help that these assets are often scattered around in different document management systems, CRMs, emails and physical storage locations.

The key question for organizational governance is how to manage risks better and how to ensure trust, agility, speed and the highest possible company valuation in any due diligence situation.
